Carla Renee Jones 2004
Upon graduation from T.C. Williams, Carla was appointed conditionally to the U.S. Air Force Academy. First she had to fulfill a costly requirement. With the assistance of financial aid from The Scholarship Fund, she was able to get the dental care she needed to receive a full appointment to the Academy. That opened the door to a four-year scholarship at one of the Top Ten Engineering Schools in the country.
Carla graduated from the Air Force Academy as a 2nd Lieutenant with a degree in engineering, and served honorably in the U.S. Air Force for seven years. She was selected to remain as an Admissions Advisor for the USAFA. She served as a Public Affairs officer at Homestead Air Force Base in Florida; at the Pentagon; and in Izmir, Turkey. Her last assignment was at Edwards Air Force Base, California.
In 2003, Carla returned to T.C. Williams, where she taught Computer Math, Pre-Calculus and Algebra I to a new generation of TC students. She is also the proud mother of an Alexandria City Public School student. Carla is an alumna who is giving back to her community every day.
