Louise Blanc 2006
When Louise Blanc graduated from The George Washington University with a B.A. in Computer Science, she became the first in her family to earn a college degree. She is grateful for the four years of scholarship support she received from the Fund.
Born to parents who emigrated from Haiti, Louise and her mother settled in Alexandria in 1990. While at T.C. Williams, Louise earned academic distinction with awards in English, French, Latin and Chemistry. Although she worked part-time, Louise was active in Future Business Leaders of America and Junior Achievement.
Having learned the importance of helping others from her mother who made frequent trips back to Haiti to assist relatives, Louise is dedicated to helping those with HIV/AIDs and volunteers in the DC AIDS Walk with Whitman/Walker Clinic. She is employed at Technology Advancement Group and takes classes at the Department of Agriculture Graduate School. She aspires to return to school one day in order to obtain an advanced degree in International Affairs and Development.
