T.C. Williams Alumni Gather to Raise $15,000 to help Today’s T.C. Titans Get to College

T.C. Williams High School Alumni from the Class of 1971 all the way through to the Class of 2009 gathered on Wednesday November 6th for the T.C. Williams Annual All-Alumni Happy Hour to benefit The Scholarship Fund of Alexandria at Chadwicks Restaurant.  The event, which challenges graduating classes to band together to contribute funds to help today’s T.C. Titans get to college, raised $15.000 to support college scholarships for Titans in need.

Former T.C. Principal John Porter was on hand as Emcee and guest bartenders included Chadwicks owner and Titan Alum Trae Lamond, Titan Alum Meghan Baroody owner of Meggrolls, and John Taylor of Jack Taylor’s Alexandria Toyota.  John and Jack Taylor contributed a $7,500 match to help the event reach its total goal.  Chadwicks donated 25% of all bar and restaurant tabs and all tips to support scholarships.  The Class of 1993 won for biggest turnout at the happy hour, and the evenings’ proceeds from Chadwicks will be donated to support scholarships in their honor.  The Class of 2009 came in second place for largest turnout.

John Porter summed up the evening saying, “This was a really great homecoming for Titan Alumni, a great way to reconnect with their Titan pride.  And it was a great event for a great cause. There is tremendous need for scholarships at today’s T.C. Williams. What could be better than giving back to your old school to help students in need get their start in college?”
