LaToria GilesLaToria Giles designs beautiful rooms. She is a kitchen and bath designer for Mid South Building in Springfield and oversees residential and commercial designs. Recently, she had the opportunity to apply her skills to a kitchen remodel for an Alexandria City Public School teacher. LaToria formerly worked for Stuart Kitchens, Inc. on custom kitchens and baths.

A member of the T.C. Williams Class of 1999, LaToria has an impressive resume of volunteer and extracurricular activities – Jack-n-Jill, 4-H, Peer Mediation, Northern Virginia Urban League, Zonta Club and Titan Pals to name a few. As President of Future Educators, she shared her love of art by encouraging at-risk elementary school students to show their creativity through the visual arts and creative performances. Her artwork was featured in T.C.’s Labyrinth literary magazine.

LaToria was awarded the Future Educators Scholarship and enrolled in Mary Baldwin College. Her creative talents prevailed and she graduated with a B.A. in art with an emphasis in interior design in 2003. While at Mary Baldwin, she continued her tradition of involvement from T.C. Williams. She served as Chair of the Resident Advisors and was elected to the President’s Society to lead campus tours and greet prospective students. She was also senior art editor of a campus magazine. In her senior year, she was fortunate to study abroad in South Africa giving her the chance to meet with great leaders such as Desmond Tutu and Nelson Mandela.

LaToria plans to continue her career as an interior designer and hopes one day to own her own design firm.
